Meet Chelsea, Rail Stop Fitness’ November 2023 Spotlight Athlete. Chelsea joined the gym last March after several military moves and challenges finding a gym that worked for her. “I was unmotivated in my fitness and looking for a community that would welcome me and motivate me. And I found it!”
Prior to joining, Chelsea had been working out on her own and experiencing issues with her squat form and having lower back pain. “When I started Rail Stop Fitness, I was able to explain to the coaches my issues and started with squat modifications and lower weight and slowly increased weight. The difference between my form from now and 6 months ago is wild!” Additionally, her 6-month journey has led to losing 10 pounds!
Chelsea says her biggest achievement since starting has been, “lifting ‘heavy’ weights again and having Coach Mel tell me my squat form is awesome!” As you could imagine, squats are one of her favorite movements, but Chelsea also loves cleans. Her favorite thing about the gym is the encouraging community noting, “Rail Stop is a very safe and friendly gym for women who are looking to jump start or restart their fitness journey.” In addition to having a safe, encouraging community to workout in, Chelsea points to her husband as her gym buddy. “We often motivate each other in our fitness goals and encourage each other.”
When asked what she would tell someone considering joining Rail Stop Fitness, Chelsea says, “CrossFit often gets this ‘super hardcore’ reputation, but it’s really approachable and scalable and Rail Stop Fitness makes it easy for every fitness level.” Congratulations and thank you to Chelsea for being our November Spotlight Athlete and sharing your fitness journey!
